This Ashtanga Yoga retreat is designed for anyone who wants to deepen their yoga practice; both beginners and more experienced practitioners are welcome.
During this Yoga retreat the days will consist of daily morning Mysore classes as well as one led class. The Mysore style (self-practice) provides a unique opportunity to work one‐on‐one with the teacher to progress and experience the benefits of yoga practice. In selected afternoons we will have talks about the practice, method and the eight limbs of yoga by Patanjali and how it can support us in our daily lives and the choices we make.
The retreat is located in a stunning countryside finca, where we serve delicious Mediterranean vegetarian meals and we will always ensure that the schedule leaves plenty of time to explore the beautiful surroundings of Mallorca.
Our team boasts vast local knowledge of the island and we are always available to organize any extra activities you might like – for example paddle surfing, sailing, scuba diving, hiking or horseback riding through the scenic Tramuntana Mountains.
There are a variety of beautiful beaches only a few kilometers away, and the rustic yet luxurious villa where you will be accommodated is the perfect place for reading, relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet of the surrounding nature.
«Yoga can be practiced by anyone, whether young, old, very old, healthy or sick. Even so, the way in which a young person is taught will differ in manner from the way in which an old or sick person will be taught. Therefore, each student must be considered as an individual and taught at a pace that is suitable for their situation in life.» – Shri K. Pattabhi Jois, source: KPJAYI.
Astrid was born and raised in the North of Norway, Tromsø. She went to her first Ashtanga class in 2003 while studying in Australia and straight away she was taken by this practice that through the years has had a great influence in her life. Since then she has had eight trips to Mysore, India, to study with her teacher Sharath Jois.
She is devoted to the lineage of Ashtanga Yoga and the method taught at the source, KPJAYI in Mysore. She is authorized level 2, has taught since 2010 and is a co-owner of a shala in Norway, Mysore Yoga Oslo, where she has run a daily Mysore program for the last three years.
Astrid will always be grateful to her first teachers that inspired her to practice and walk this path; Guillermo Benitez, Basia Lipska, Alexander Medin and Matt Corigliano.
